SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 6 FROM 1PM - 2 PM
Our Lady of the Sierra Roman Catholic Church - 1301 Linebaugh Rd, Arnold, CA 95223
Join us as we say our vows, and receive the sacrament of matrimony.
Ladies: Pack your favorite comfortable dress. We'll be doing a small amount of walking outside, so embrace the wedge!
Gentlemen: Bring your cleanest pair of Wranglers and dress shirt, boots are welcome. Feel free to leave your jacket at home if you're not that kind of guy.
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 6 FROM 2:30 PM - 11 PM
The Historic Avery Hotel - 4573 Moran Rd, Avery, CA 95224
Join us at the historic hotel for dinner, cake, drinks and dancing. There will also be games and we will have access to the pool table and poker tables. So be ready to have some fun! There will be an open bar, but if you've got cash burning holes in your pocket the poker table will be hosting a tournament!
The hotel will be a mix of indoor and outdoor lounging. So be preparred to enjoy both and mingle with new friends and family!
We have the hotel to ourselves from September 4th 10:00am until September 7th 12:00pm. There is room for tent camping, if that is something you would be interested in please let us know! We would need to plan how much space will be needed for tent camping.
We are allowed two dogs at the hotel, and the newlyweds are wanting to have their pups join us for the after party. There is the middle school track and field walking distance away where your pups can be relieved and get some wiggles out. But we ask to help us follow the hotel's rules and leave your pups at home or in vehicles to be let out every once in a while, check in with the weather to plan accordingly.
Parking: There is a small amount of parking at the hotel's entrance, please reserve that for our guests that will need more accessibility. There will be more parking either at the middle school or the parking lot by the tack and field. Both of those lots require a bit of walking to get to, so be ready for the driver to walk a distance (after dropping off the ladies ;) )
SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 7 TBD
The Historic Avery Hotel - 4573 Moran Rd, Avery, CA 95224
Don't leave without saying goodbye!
Help cleaning up the hotel for checkout is much appreciated, checkout is at noon, but we have been allowed to check out as soon as possible in the afternoon. More hands make less work!
More details coming soon....
Arnold is about a two hour drive East of Sacramento, depending on traffic. If you plan on driving over Ebbetts Pass (Hwy 4) PLEASE NOTE that the road over the pass DOES NOT accomodate trailers or hauling. We highly recommend the scenic byway, but be prepared for blind corners, sharp switchbacks, and the road narrows to almost single lane traffic in areas, please be cautious while enjoying the views. If you can, it would be a good idea to add some time to your travels to enjoy Lake Alpine while driving by!
We highly recommend renting a car if you're flying into CA so you can explore all that the Sierra Nevadas have to offer!
We recommend having a plan with family and friends to coordinate trips to and from the airport. The wedding party and family will be very busy up until the big day, so we hope that guests can help each other out in coordination. If needed we can help ahead of time to connect with people to carpool!
DO NOT count on Uber or Lyft in Calaveras County. It is not a reliable source of transportation, especially in Arnold.
Coordinate with friends. A lot of the rentals have great spaces for groups, so get a rustic cabin for your group to save some money (and maximize fun!).
There are a few hotels in Murphys, which is about 15 minutes from Arnold. The most convenient motel in Arnold is the Arnold Meadowmont Lodge.
Stay the whole weekend! We know you're super busy, but we'd love for you to be there the whole weekend. Scott and Sierra will be in Arnold starting September 1st. If you can, book a place for Friday through Sunday. The newleyweds will be planning to leave town the following Monday, but there is plenty to do in Arnold and we welcome you to enjoy all that Calaveras County has to offer.
